CT / X-ray

Computed tomography (CT)

What does such a diagnosis give?

Computed tomography (CT) is a progressive X-ray machine that allows you to obtain high quality images in real time, simultaneously in different projections. In a few seconds, the device takes many pictures, which are created "in layers". The images are processed by a computer, as a result, the doctor receives a 3D model of the area of interest with all the details of the internal and external structure. According to this model, the doctor understands the state of health of the animal and sees the foci of diseases.

CT is the most informative for the assessment of osteoarticular pathologies, as well as informative for the planning and control of surgical operations.

Features of computed tomography in animals - compulsory anesthetic support. The fact is that, depending on the purpose of the study, the procedure can take from 5 to 50 minutes, and during all this time the patient must be absolutely motionless. Moreover, for the study of some areas, not only immobility is necessary, but also a strictly defined laying of the animal. Therefore, it is simply impossible to perform a CT scan on a patient without anesthesia.
